Attention Tribal Elections
Notice is hereby given that on December 17,1977, an election will be held for the purpose of electing five (5) Tribal Council members, one from each of the following districts: Councilmen Whose Term Expire: 1977 Arlee District Louis W. Adams
ST. Ignatius DistrictHarold W. Mitchell
Jr.
Elmo/Dayton District Patrick H. Left-hand
Ronan District Joseph F. McDonald Poison District E. W./Bill/ Morigeau
The term of office of Councilmen is for four(4) years. Newly elected members take office at the first Constitutional meeting of the Tribal Council following the election.
Any member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation, who is 21 years of age or older, may announce his/her candidacy for the Tribal Council, providing a legal residence has been maintained on the reservation in the
district of his/her candidacy for at least one year next preceding the election by notifying the Secretary of the Tribal Council in writing of his candidacy at least fifteen (15) days before the election.
Closing date for filing will be Friday, December 02, 1977 at 4:30 p.m.
A list of names of the candidates will be posted ten (10) days before election. Polling places will be announced ten (10) days before the election.
Arlee Coed Is Queen Candidate
Dillon—Paula Espinoza, a 21-year old sophomore from Arlee, is among 10 coeds competing for the 1977 home-ing queen crown at Western Montana College.
The winner, chosen by student body ballot, will be crowned Thursday evening, Oct. 13, during coronation ceremonies in the WMC auditorium.
Miss Espinoza, a 1974 graduate of Arlee High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pablo Espinoza, Mountain Home.
The new WMC queen will reign over weekend festivities which include Saturday's WMC-Tech football game and Sunday's climactic "Western Day" celebration.
