VOLUME 6 NUMBER 18 FULL MOON OF THE WANDERING January 15, 1977
WEEKEND BURGLARY SUSPECTS APPREHENDED
Most of the nearly $lU,000 worth of equipment stolen in a weekend burglary at the Dixon Alternative School and the Char-Koosta office, was recovered within 2h hours of its occurance.
Authorities have three juvenile suspects in custody. The two boys and one girl were supposed to have entered the building by a rear window or door.
BIA Special Officers, Vern Erickson and Rob C. Moran, led an investigation by federal and local officers in a three county area. Tribal Law and Order were unable to answer the call at the time the burglary was discovered .
Meanwhile, the Alternative School and the Char-Koosta are hoping the courts will issue a release of the stolen items, since the operation of both programs has come to a screeching halt.
The Char-Koosta is missing two typesetting machines used to set final copy for the newspaper, and an electric typewritter.
The Alternative School will have a hard time conducting Business Machines classes without the machines.
The items stolen were: 8 typewritters, 2 typesetting composers, 7 calculators, 3 or U tape recorders, a movie camera and editor, one film strip projector and a tape trans-scriber.
For very obvious reasons, this issue is short a few pages. Hopefully we will have all of our equipment back before the next issue, and we will include the news items and feature articles held back.
