ACCIDENT REPORT
Dixon: The Tribal Law & Order Dept. has.released the accident report for the month of March. A total of 24 accidents occured on the Flathead Reservation. Of the 24 accidents, 10 were alcohol related. 38 people were involved, 17 injuries and 1 death. Of the 38 involved, 16 were Tribal members.
Committee to Run Pow Wow
A group calling themselves the 'Reservation Wide Pow-Wow Committee', was represented by Doug Allard and Kenny McClure at the Quarterly meeting held April 2. Spokesman Doug Allard presented a proposal to the Council for the committee to run the Arlee Pow-Wow this year. Approximately twenty local residents form the committee.
Their proposal contained a budget request totaling approximately $9,200.00 , of which they plan to repay $.5,800.00 by holding raffles, teen dances, concessions and ticket sales.
One other proposal was submitted by Hot Springs' resident Frenchie Morigeau, however his proposal did not give a detailed budget request.
After some discussion, the Council voted to award the Pow-Wow to the 'Reservation Wide Pow-Wow Committee.
Allard told the Council that the committee has a-lot of good ideas that they will implement to make this year's Pow-Wow the best on any Reservation.
Hot Springs Meeting
Councilman Tom Pablo has announced he will hold a reservation wide District meeting in Hot Springs on April 17.
The meeting will be at the Bathhouse and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Agenda will include a discussion on the proposed Tribal Complex, Law and Order program and Forestry & Game manag-ment.
All interested members are invited to attend.

Arlee Councilman Candidates
HOLY FAMILY HOSPITAL
Dixon: As of April 10, five people has formally announced their candidacy for the May 1 election of the Arlee Councilman's position left vacant by Fred Whitworth when he resigned April 2nd.
Those candidates are Louie Adams, BIA Forestry Check-Sealer; Virginia Matt Brazill, formerly with the CHR program; Joe Hawkins, local thinning contractor; Clarice Charlo Sanchez, teacher at the Tribal Alternative School; and Josephine Morigeau Steele, Constitutional Convention delegate.
Tribal members wishing to file their candidacy, must submit their intention in writing to the Tribal Secretary by April 15, 4:30 p.m.
Those wishing to publish campaign speeches in the Char-Koosta for the May 1 issue, must submit them to our office by April 20. Speeches must be type written or printed, and no longer than two hand written pages.
FIRE FIGHTER'S STEP TEST
Ronan: The first opportunity for firefighters to pass the " step test " will be April 20, at the Ronan Fire Control Warehouse, beginning at 8:30 in the morning. Members of Organized Crews desiring off-reservation dispatch are required to pass this test at the 45 level. Due to tne cost ot administering this test, a limited number of opportunities will be provided. Step-tests will not be given at the time of dispatch. It is to your advantage to attempt this test early.
This remote control heart monitor can sound the emergency alarm for a patient with a heart condition. The machinery that monitors the economic heart beat of the hospital is predicting death will occur in a very few months. For the complete story see page 6.
