CSKT to host Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians conference
The city of Kalispell can rightly call itself "Indian Country" next week as hundreds of Native Americans are expected to gather for five separate events.

Delegates from some 40 tribes in North America will meet to discuss the past year's progress in five major areas identified in the 1987 "plan of action": cultural affairs, economic development and employment, human and social services, natural resources and the environment, and Tribal governance.

Native Americans from British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, have been invited to expand the scope of the discussions to an international level.
A number of special events are on the agenda in addition to the panel discussions, committee meetings and displays of Indian arts and crafts and Tribal business booths. Special luncheons are (Concludes on page two)
