MONTH OF THE CAMAS
Chief Koostatah of the Kootenai JUNE 1, 1988
Graduates honored; Two Eagle ground-breaking announced
The Reservation's student population is in the spotlight these days, what with awards dinners and graduation parties and ceremonies.
Arlee and St. Ignatius feted their graduates with dinner and gifts on May 24 and 25 (story on page three), respectively, while Two Eagle River School in Dixon honored its youngsters with an awards banquet May 24 and a graduation ceremony May 27 (story and pho-
tos next week).
The college crowd will be enjoying similar doings this week—see the story below for details.
The students at Two Eagle got a little icing on their cake last Friday, so to speak, when principal Carlos Sunder-mann announced that the bid to build a new school in Pablo had been awarded by the BIA a week earlier, and the school board had decided the night before to host a luncheon and ground-breaking
celebration on June 1, beginning at noon (news that will be old by the time this Char-Koosta is being read, a day or so late, due to the Monday holiday).
Sundermann said the board knew that the June 1 date was a bit last-minute, but it was very appropriate nonetheless: That's the last day of school at Two Eagle for this scholastic year, and what a neat way to spend it, taking a physical first step towards a badly needed and long-awaited new school building.
