Community invited to eat chili, watch teens' play and 'get corny'
Community members who have wanted to see the "Designer Genes" musical production [12-16-87 CKN] will have that opportunity on January 28, at a "chili feed/variety show/pie auction" in the St. Ignatius elementary school gymnasium, according to Mary Herak, school CARE Program coordinator.
The evening of entertainment, co-sponsored by the P.T.A. and the CARE
Program, will serve as a fund-raiser to send more students to the Montana Teen Institute and the Teens in Partnership summer camps, and to help cover some of the costs being incurred by the play cast at the "Montanans Caring for Kids" conference in GreatFalls Jan. 21-22 (see article on page two).
The evening will begin at 6:30, with a feast of chili and fry bread, Herak said. A "Hee-Haw" type variety show and pie auction will begin at 7:30, featuring local talent. "Designer Genes" will begin at 8:15, followed by a closing
sing-along at 9 p.m. A short P.T.A. meeting will be held at 6 p.m. for those interested.
"Anyone who wants to do a quick joke, a short skit, or a song is encouraged to do so," Herak said. "This is all for fun. Grab your children and your best friends and get corny."
The P.T.A. is providing ingredients for the chili and parents of the play cast and MTI/TIP students have been asked to bring pies and fry bread. Anyone who has an act or wants to help out can call (Continues on the next page)
Education surveys still wanted.

If you thought it was too late to send in that education survey that the Tribes' Personnel office sent out last Oct.(?) and you thought they might have stopped taking them: It's not, and they haven't.
Personnel director Teresa Wall-McDonald says the surveys are still wanted and very needed. The information gathered through the surveys is completely confidential and will be used to compile statistics reflecting the general membership's career goals, educational needs and any suggestions to train members to meet the qualifications needed in the more technical positions within the Tribal structure.
The effort was initiated when the Tribal Council declared a goal to achieve total Tribal member employment by the year 1995.
"We're finding out there are qualified, talented, technical people out there who are Tribal members," said Wall-McDonald.
Everyone's input would be appreciated, regardless of age, place of residence or whether or not you currently have career aspirations.
