'Committed people' needed to attend Alkali Lake training
The Tribal Health Depart-ment's Alcohol Program is gathering the names of individuals interested in travelling to Alkali Lake, British Columbia, to attend an intensive five-day training session.
The purpose of this training is to assist people in forming positive attitudes towards all aspects of their lives. During
the week, individuals will begin to acknowledge, accept and resolve ugly experiences due to alcoholism, being raised in a chemical-dependent family, drug abuse and emotional neglect.
The focus is to change negative feelings, attitudes and beliefs into positive and live-serving ones.
Local people who have gone through the training in the past report that it was
a very positive experience.
The Alcohol Program has already sponsored one group and hopes to continue this activity in the future beyond the Sept. 12-17 session.
Plans are being finalized for community members to make the journey to Alkali Lake this Saturday (Sept. 12).
