VOLUME 14 NUMBER 17
DECEMBER 26, 1985
Council's an all-male bastion once more
1985 Tribal election results: Council has one new face, four familiar ones
About half the Tribes' eligible voters visited the polls December 14 to put 2 incumbents back in office along with 3 newcomers, although two of them were on the Council before.
Winners were: Arlee. Jim Steele; St Ignatius, Fred Matt; Ronan. Robert McCrea; Polsoa Patrick Lefthand; and Elmo-Dayton, Lawrence Kenmille
(See official count in the table below.)
This year's three-day election-to-canvassing waiting period made up in excitement what the pre-election campaigning lacked
Only McCrea and Kenmille. and maybe Steele, woke up the morning after election day assured of victory, with vote spreads of 100 or more over (Concludes on page four)
