for
use
in

woodlands
.
Procedures
are
described
for
estimating
biomass
,
stand
basal
area
,
canopy
cover
,
tree
density
, and
growth
rates
using
either
point
sampling
or
line-intersect
sampling
.
Both
sampling
methods
are
supported
by
regression
equations
for
estimating
aboveground
biomass
,
cordwood
,
slash
,
fine
fuels
, and
foliage
of
singleleaf
pinyon
and
Utah
juniper
.
Regression
equations
for
predicting
decadal
growth
rates
in
terms
of
stand
basal
area
,
aboveground
biomass
, and
cordwood
are also
presented
. These
procedures
can
be
modified
for
use
