Description	This publication synthesizes the vast literature on lodgepole pine dwarf mistletoe (Arceuthobium americanum) and adds some new information on biology of the parasite. Although dwarf mistletoe has been recognized as a serious parasite of lodgepole pine for more than 75 years, its routine operational control through forest management has been primarily a development over the past two decades. This report discusses silvicultural control of dwarf mistletoe in various type of stands where fiber production is the primary goal, and also in forests used mainly for recreation.
