Description	Reported in this Proceedings are the environmental consequences of applying alternative harvesting systems, silvi-cultural prescriptions, and utilization standards in coniferous forest ecosystems of the Rocky Mountain area. Although the research has necessarily been site-specific, the results have broad management implications for prescribing harvesting practices to achieve multiple resource management objectives in coniferous forests in general.
