STATEMENT OF SENATOR MIKE MANSFIELD • September 8, 1966
My colleague, the able Senator from Montana, Lee Metcalf, has
been a strong champion of the Rural Electrification Program for
many years. Senator Metcalf is now in Montana and before he left
the City, he asked that I place in the body of the Congressional
Record remarks made by the Administrator of the Rural Electrification
Administration, Norman Clapp, before the Western Conference of Public
Service Commissions which was held in Glacier National Park. I
ask unanimous consent that the text of this speech be printed at
this point in the Congressional Record.
