The Director of the Bureau of Land Management is Boyd Rasmussen,
at one time Regional Forester for the United States Forest Service at
Missoula, Montana. He did a fine job in ~ State, then came to Washington
to the administrative position in the Forest Service, and then selected
for this new position as Director of the Bureau of Land Management. In
the short time that he has been in this position, Boyd Rasmussen has de•
veloped a reputation of confidence and sound administration. The August,
1967 issue of American Forests carries an interesting feature on Director
Rasmussen and the work of the BLM.

James B. Crais printed at the conclusion of ~ remarks in the Congressional
