The Mansfield Library is joining the global campaign, One Billion Rising, to stop violence against women and girls.
Tomorrow, 2/13, at 1 pm, there will be a preview performance of the Vagina Monologues on the third floor in the East Faculty Office area.
Thursday, 2/14, at noon, there will be a flash mob on the Oval. No dance experience is necessary!
Join us at the Mansfield Library on Thursday, 2/14, at 2 pm after the flash mob for a lecture entitled “Moments of Change” given by Professors Christine Fiore and Danielle Wozniak. Their lecture will focus on bystander intervention as one of the best ways to prevent violence against women.
Lastly, there is currently a display on the third floor (main floor) of the library which features fiction and non-fiction/documentary books and films related to sexual violence as well as violence against women and girls. These titles were selected to foster constructive dialogue about this topic as well as to discover ways to end such violence. On the back of the display are photos and brief biographies of influential women throughout history who have strived to create equality for women and girls in the United States and around the world.
