SNMIPNUNTN: The Faculty Newsletter of the Mansfield Library

13 September 2011 by Julie Biando Edwards

The inaugural Mansfield Library newsletter, Snmipnuntn (sin-mee-pi-noon-tin), is now available online. Snmipnuntn is a Salish word meaning “a place to learn, a place to figure things out, a place where reality is discovered.” We chose this name to reflect the Salish land on which UM now sits, and we think it provides a nice description of what it is a library does.

The newsletter is designed to reflect our services and our people. The aim is to provide campus faculty, staff, administrators, and students on campus with in-depth information about what the library can do for them and to highlight the ways in which teaching faculty and students use our services. You’ll also notice a new section called “10 Questions With. . .”. In each semester issue, we will highlight someone in this section so that campus community can better get to know the people behind the Mansfield Library. The  Snmipnuntn is available through the Mansfield Library website.
