Breast Cancer Information

In the United States in 2007, 202,964 women were diagnosed with breast cancer, and 40,598 women died from the disease. Except for skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women.

    “Breast Cancer Awareness” (like “Prostate Cancer Awareness”) is a slogan that does not promote actual awareness. See my article, “How Did the PSA System Arise?” in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine 103 (2010): 309-12.

    I do not think a library should engage in sloganeering.
