Our scores have all been moved from the 3rd floor to the fourth floor. They are now in brand new shelving that was acquired over the summer. This new shelving fits the dimensions of most of the scores much better than the previous ones did. In the photo above is Leslie Rieger, one of our cataloging technicians, as well as Robert Coleman, one of our student assistants who assists with shelving. Below is a picture of yours truly along with Heidi Hill-Picchietti who is one of our circulation managers. All of these folks contributed greatly to make this move successful. This is a great new home for our score collection and we have room for further growth.

Seventeen of Jeff Koons’ sculptures are on exhibition at the Chateau de Versailles in France. An interesting article about the exhibition, and the controversy it has caused so far, is on the New York Times’ web site:

Comedian George Carlin passed away yesterday in Santa Monica, CA. For more information, please click here.

We have his 1997 book, Brain Droppings (Call number 818.54 C282b- level 2) as well as a television mini-series Streets of Laredo in which he starred (Call number DVD 0855). Cyd Charisse, best known for her dancing in Hollywood movies and musicals from the 1940s-1950s, passed away on June 17, 2008 in Los Angeles.
