How to Find Our Materials
There are a number of resources you can use to find the materials in our collections. If you have difficulty finding something, please contact us.
Mansfield Library Catalog: The library catalog will provide access to all our books as well as many of our manuscript collections and oral histories. You can use the “Set Limits” button to limit your search to either Archives or Special Collections materials.
Northwest Digital Archives: This repository of archival finding aids for libraries in the Pacific Northwest includes all of our online finding aids for our manuscript collections. Use the advanced search to limit to the University of Montana.
Online Photo Database: View selected images from our extensive photograph collection that have been digitized and made available online. The number of photos available online is continually growing, but it represents only a small portion of our total photo collection. A card catalog and binders of photocopies located outside the Archives and Special Collections area provide access to many of the photographs not available online.
Pamphlet & Ephemera Finding Aids: Our ephemera collection includes thousands of pamphlets, posters, broadsides, and other ephemeral materials. The online finding aids list individual categories of material, but they do not typically list individual items. For more help, contact the Special Collections Librarian.
